2 Months

2 Months old?  Is that even possible!?  Well, a trip to the doctor's office says it is!  3 shots, a long nap, and a cranky afternoon later, here I am, rocking the evening away with my baby girl.  Poor Angie - shots suck!

A New Rocketeer

I'm really proud of Nicky for putting this project together all by himself.  He came up with an idea, asked for a few supplies and put it all together.  Now, if I could just get him to stop zooming around my house.....

An old Friend Comes to Visit

I don't know if a 2 year old counts as an "old friend" but we haven't seen Mason for almost half his life, so that should totally count.  When I found out that our friends Jess and Trent were coming to town, I had to practically beg and plead for Mason to come stay with us.  After some arm twisting, Jess and Trent agreed to some adult only time and Mason spent an overnight with us.

One of the things I love the most about this kid is that he loves my cooking!  I mean, who doesn't love pancakes, but I haven't given Mason anything he hasn't eaten yet, especially if he can drown it in ketchup!

We took Mason with us to see Big Nanny and Pop.  He followed Brooklyn's lead and just ran right in and gave all the old people a hug.  It was the sweetest!!  Brooklyn ushered Mason around and showed him all our coolest toys including our new pony castle.  It was hilarious to watch these two play!  Mason mostly just wants to push cars around and bang on stuff, while Brooklyn needs more of a story.  "Why are you doing that?"  "The car wouldn't do that."  These were common phrases, to which Mason mostly responded to with sweet eyes and a short attention span for the story Brooklyn would tell.

All my kids call Mason "Mase Mase" but he didn't seem to mind one bit.  Before we knew it, Mason's parents were knocking on our door!  It was so fun to visit with all our friends.  We miss them so much!!

Bath Time is my Favorite Time

Carnival with Nanny and Pop

The Legacy House, where Nanny and Pop live, puts together the most amazing family events.  The summer carnival can't be topped!  There are pony rides for the kids, mechanical bull riding, cotton candy, lawn games, a dunk tank and a bunch of other things I'm sure I'm missing. The kids just run from one activity to another and they love every hot and sweaty minute of it.

Brooklyn's very favorite thing was the pony rides.   She could have just stood in that line and ridden the ponies over and over and over again.  She loved it so much, and I was so tired of taking her, that she convinced Pop to walk over to the ponies with her.  It was the cutest to see the two of them crossing the lawn together!  Brooklyn loved her Papa more than anyone else that day for allowing her one more pony ride.

Little Sal is a bit too big to be riding ponies, but the ladies were so nice to allow him one short ride.

You see this face?  That is one happy girl!!

Nicky rode the mechanical bull twice, which was situated right in front of where we were sitting.  He was hilarious to watch and actually did a pretty good job of staying upright!  And it just isn't a carnival without cotton candy!

The carnival fell on the hottest day of the summer, to date.  It was soooooooo hot.  We sat in the shade, but Angie was still sweating as she slept in my arms.  Yuck.  She didn't get a terribly log nap, but she was still the happiest baby.  I love having all these helping hands around who are willing to hold onto Angie so I can do other things - like take Brooklyn to ride the ponies again!

Brooklyn loves her Papa and Big Nanny!

The carnival was so fun and we were sad to see it come to an end.  The kids are already talking about what they want to do next year!  One of the best things about living in Utah is that we get to spend so much time with Nanny and Pop.  I think about how lucky my kids are, to know their great-grandparents so well, and I hope they remember events like this forever.  I love to watch them all together and I'm so grateful to be able to call all these crazies mine!

This little monkey was making the cutest faces on our way home.  Her eyes - they kill me - they're just so giant!
