The Legacy House, where Nanny and Pop live, puts together the most amazing family events. The summer carnival can't be topped! There are pony rides for the kids, mechanical bull riding, cotton candy, lawn games, a dunk tank and a bunch of other things I'm sure I'm missing. The kids just run from one activity to another and they love every hot and sweaty minute of it.
Brooklyn's very favorite thing was the pony rides. She could have just stood in that line and ridden the ponies over and over and over again. She loved it so much, and I was so tired of taking her, that she convinced Pop to walk over to the ponies with her. It was the cutest to see the two of them crossing the lawn together! Brooklyn loved her Papa more than anyone else that day for allowing her one more pony ride.

Little Sal is a bit too big to be riding ponies, but the ladies were so nice to allow him one short ride.
You see this face? That is one happy girl!!
Nicky rode the mechanical bull twice, which was situated right in front of where we were sitting. He was hilarious to watch and actually did a pretty good job of staying upright! And it just isn't a carnival without cotton candy!
The carnival fell on the hottest day of the summer, to date. It was soooooooo hot. We sat in the shade, but Angie was still sweating as she slept in my arms. Yuck. She didn't get a terribly log nap, but she was still the happiest baby. I love having all these helping hands around who are willing to hold onto Angie so I can do other things - like take Brooklyn to ride the ponies again!
Brooklyn loves her Papa and Big Nanny!
The carnival was so fun and we were sad to see it come to an end. The kids are already talking about what they want to do next year! One of the best things about living in Utah is that we get to spend so much time with Nanny and Pop. I think about how lucky my kids are, to know their great-grandparents so well, and I hope they remember events like this forever. I love to watch them all together and I'm so grateful to be able to call all these crazies mine!
This little monkey was making the cutest faces on our way home. Her eyes - they kill me - they're just so giant!
